The Chapter Ethics Committee (CEC) is responsible for assisting the NASW Office of Ethics and Professional Review (OEPR) in addressing complaints filed against members in accord with the Association’s policy on professional review.

Krista Brown

Krista Brown, MSW, LICSW

Western Washington Region

Krista Brown, MSW, LICSW (She/Her/Hers) is a dedicated social work professional hailing from Iowa. Krista's journey includes earning her BSSW from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and completing her MSW through the University of Southern California's virtual program. Her experience as a Trauma Intern in a VOCA funded position showcases her commitment to hands-on learning and growth. With 9 years of diverse work experience in nursing homes, community mental health, emergency departments, private practice, the insurance sector, and as a contract therapist for the military, Krista brings a wealth of expertise to the Chapter. Her profound insight into the ethical challenges within the social work field aligns seamlessly with NASW Washington's mission of supporting and empowering social workers.

Katie Evans

Katie Evans, LICSW

Western Washington Region

Katie Evans, LICSW (She/Her) was born in Oregon but raised in Pierce County Washington and considers Puyallup her home town. She an enthusiastic WSU Cougar fan as she holds a BA in Criminal Justice and Sociology from WSU but is a traitor when she obtained her MSW from UW in 2008. Katie has worked all over Pierce County in various social work roles that include Child Protective Services, Veterans Affairs Homeless Programs, JBLM as a Victim Advocate and a Military Family Life Counselor and a Manager of an Adolescent In Patient Psych Unit. This lead to her current role as the Intimate Partner Violence Program-Coordinator at the American Lake VA. She serves on the NASW-WA Ethics Committee and Volunteers her time as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and in the past as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children in State Custody. Katie likes to crochet, and loves her yellow Labrador retriever. She has also been married for 13 years and has a 9 year old daughter.

Katie Evermann

Katie Evermann, MSW, LICSW

Eastern Washington Region

Katie Evermann, MSW, LICSW, (She/Her) brings over 15 years of expertise in health care social work, having served as the Director of Social Work, Care Coordination & Palliative Care. With an LICSW and NASW specialty certification in Hospice & Palliative Care, Katie's leadership extended to chairing the Hospital Ethics Committee for nearly a decade. Transitioning to the school system in 2017, she holds a School Social Work ESA and actively teaches at the Eastern Washington School of Social Work, mentoring numerous MSW students. As an active NASW member, Katie has participated in NASW and NASW-WA conferences, and was honored as the NASW Social Worker of the Year for WA. Her unwavering passion for social work and dedication to advocacy and professional development reflect her commitment to empowering social workers and advancing social justice initiatives.

Danielle Flores

Danielle Flores, MSW, LICSW

Western Washington Region

Danielle Flores, MSW, LICSW (She/Her) has been actively involved in NASW since serving as a student representative in 2014. Since then, has served in the roles of executive assistant and membership services director with the Nevada Chapter. She has also served as secretary in various student organizations and on several non-profit boards. She obtained her LICSW and is currently employed with DCYF.

Christopher Heckert, DSW, MSW, LICSW, CMHS

Western Washington Region

Christopher Heckert, DSW, LICSW, CMHS (He/Him/His) is a licensed clinical social worker and child mental health specialist with a private practice in Bellingham, WA. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) from the University of St. Thomas. Christopher is also adjunct faculty at the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.

Anissa Rogers, MSW, MA, Ph.D. (She/Her/Hers), brings a wealth of experience as the Chair of the Pacific Lutheran University MSW Program, embodying a commitment to excellence in social work education and practice. With a focus on nurturing ethical awareness among students, Anissa's dedication to fostering ethical thinking is a cornerstone of her professional ethos. Stacey Speelman

Stacey Speelman, MSW, LICSW, CMHS

Western Washington Region

Stacey Speelman, MSW, LICSW, CMHS (She/Her) is a licensed clinical social worker with the additional designations of child mental health specialist and clinical supervisor. She earned her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University, and the Master of Social Work (Clinical) from Cleveland State University. She has also completed the Certificate in Integrated Behavioral Health and Primary Care (Pediatric track) through the University of Michigan.
